My Experience

We arrived to the Grand Canyon mid-afternoon

after visiting several gift and Rock stores and eating at a Pizza Hut along the way. The canyon really sneaks up on you and when you finally see it, your breath is taken away. No photo you have ever seen will have prepared you for the magnificent beauty you will behold.

We drove to the South Rim and started our journey at Mather Point. Then we followed the Trial of Time along the rim. When it was about to get dark we decided to take the shuttle bus back to the car to avoid being caught in the dark (This was a mistake). As we caught a glimpse of the amazing sunset out of the bus window we jumped out of the bus as soon as we could and ran back to Mather Point just in time to catch the last few minutes of the sun set. Don't make my mistake! Watching the Sunset over the Grand Canyon is a can't miss.

We didn't end up having that much time at the Grand Canyon because we decided to get back on the road in order to see Arches National Park the next day. However, we plan to go back this summer! We plan to travel down into the canyon and take a rafting trip on the Colorado.
